Beware the tailers

PVC beads and profiles are showing up on the market, to which glass mesh strips are sewn. Such beads include dripnose beads, reveal beads, PVC groove beads with mesh.

Unknown type of thread is used. No Technical Approval has been issued for sewing the glass mesh – this is a typical technical improvisation to reduce production costs while at the same time transferring responsibility to the consumer. We have noticed that this sewing causes problems when installing the beads. Spreading the adhesive on the profile and drawing it with a float on the profile surface, it is common for the threads to get torn causing the glass mesh to fall off the PVC profile.

Our company uses a so-called ultrasonic weld to attach the mesh to the profile, where the connection is based on the energetic bonding of two PVC elements.

Such form of bonding guarantees first of all a very strong connection of the glass mesh with the PVC profile, resistant to all agents (also thermal and chemical) and, secondly, guarantees the absence of the above mentioned technical and legal issues.
